I am fully Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Checked

this was formerly called the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB)

I have £2 million public liability insurance with Direct Line Insurance and  I am fully authorised to clean the following:

Wood Burning Stoves

Multi-fuel stoves

Aga / Solid Fuel Cookers

Standard Fireplaces

Your fireplace will be sealed with a soot sheet and swept with brushes so the brush pokes out the top of the chimney pot, an industrial vacuum is used to prevent soot escaping into the room and to clean up once the brushes have been removed.

A certificate will be issued upon completion in compliance with the terms of your house insurance.

Please note:. A growing number of insurance companies are including clauses about real open fires or stoves in the small print of policies. These clauses invalidate the insurance liability if the chimney or flue has not been swept and a chimney fire later on causes damage or a claim is made.
For this reason it is clearly important to use the service of a qualified and registered chimney sweep who will issue a valid certificate which can be presented to the insurance company in the case of a claim for any kind of damage.

If a gas fire needs disconnecting to gain access to the flue area, please ensure you use a qualified GasSafe (formerly Corgi) registered gas engineer before booking me.

If you have a wood burning stove that needs sweeping, please ensure that your appliance has either been fitted with a lined flue. Or, an access hatch has to be fitted to the register plate to allow access to the main flue area. Failure to have a correctly fitted stove could result in loss of efficiency and possibly allow dangerous carbon monoxide emissions into your house.

By law, I am unable to dismantle a flue pipes, register/closure  plates or move stoves once they have been professionally fitted and commissioned.

I do not condone any stove that has not been fitted by a HETAS registered fitter, and reserve the right to not sweep any DIY fitted appliances.
